Carol Carter, workplace people expert, transforming managers into leaders and employees into teams, used to be a terrible public speaker.
In 2010, she joined Toastmasters to overcome her career limiting shaking, sweating, stammering, and spastic movements. Two years later, she won the chance to compete on the World Stage at the Toastmasters International Championship of Public Speaking, along with 86 other top speakers from around the planet!
Carol placed 2nd in her Semi-Finals competition. The woman who beat her was the ONLY woman out of 9 competitors in the Finals. Carol watched 29 speeches in one day. Half of the were women. She watched as woman after woman made the same fatal speaking mistakes. Tune in to learn what those mistakes are and how you can fix them to be effective on stage, in the boardroom, or anywhere you need to influence others.
