Sadie St. Denis is the Executive Director of The Shanti Uganda Society, a Canadian Charity and Ugandan NGO that improves infant and maternal health, provides safe woman-centred care and supports the well-being of birthing mothers and women living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda.

Sadie is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and sexual reproductive health rights. Sadie completed an internship with the Canadian Internationals Development Agency in Uganda in 2010 and was awakened to the alarming state of maternal and infant health care and the urgent need for action. She has been working with The Shanti Uganda Society since 2011 when, as the organization’s Project Coordinator in Uganda, she was responsible for leading a team of international volunteers and local staff. Deeply inspired by the organization’s commitment to conscious activism, growth, and integrity, Sadie stepped into the role of Executive Director in February 2013.
